The Advanced Program for Children's Ballet is a wonderful program where dancers learn the grace, beauty, and poise of classical ballet based upon Dmitri Roudnev's unique training method that enables dancers to increase their extension, develop elegance of port de bras (arms and head), and height and quickness of jumps. The program offers ballet, pointe, variations (classical choreography), and contemporary dance set to pop and rock, all taught by only the best instructors. Dancers perform at the Buckman Center in the acclaimed Children's Ballet classical Nutcracker Suite as well as the Spring recital that features famous ballets such as Cinderella as well as contemporary choreography.

Dmitri Roudnev trained for eight years at the renowned Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia. He joined the Bolshoi Ballet, under the direction of the great U.N. Grigorovich, as soloist. He has performed around the world in the principal lead roles of Giselle, Swan Lake, Paquita, Balanchine’s Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Nutcracker and Don Quixote. Dmitri directed the Dmitri Roudnev Ballet School of Chicago, Ballet Intensive from Moscow and the USA National Youth Ballet Competition sponsored by Russian Pointe. Roudnev developed a special ballet training program for World Champion pairs skaters Tatiana Taminyana and Maxim Marinin. The couple worked with him in their preparations for the Olympics 2002 and Olympics 2006 where they won the coveted gold medal prize.
Instructors for the program include director Dmitri Roudnev, Mary Roudnev, Erin Walter and Maria Brychuk. A real gem of classical ballet heritage is residing right here in Memphis, Tennessee. Dmitri Roudnev is a master ballet teacher, and dancers come from across the country to train privately with him. (See his website at www.BalletRussian.org). Dmitri has a serious training attitude but blends in a sense of humor and a caring attitude for each dancer’s accomplishments. Parents are amazed at the improvement in their children in posture, strength, extension, and memory skills in just a few short weeks with Dmitri.
